Why Selling on Plastic Jungle May Is Not Good Right Now

I wrote two posts about Plastic Jungle offering specials here and here. Before the special happened, I noticed the rates to Walmart and Target fell to around 88%. These two vendors have the highest percent back when we, consumers, sell among all gift card exchanges like Plastic Jungle.

I saw in the Plastic Jungle FAQ —  Will there be more promotions like this one in the future?

Yes we plan on having a new promotion run each week for the next few weeks. We also plan on having weekend deals on a certain card brands, so check back this weekend if you want to be get an even better deal on some of our most popular cards.

Since seeing that in the FAQ, the rates that we, sell to Plastic Jungle is sharply lower. This would make sense because they would buy the gift cards cheaper from us while handing out “free money” in the form of a coupon when we buy a gift card.

Let’s look at Figure 1 below. When we sell on Plastic Jungle they would buy our Target card for 84% of the value while CardPool would buy it at 90%. At this time, I don’t think selling Walmart or Target cards to Plastic Jungle is a good opportunity, Exxon still is. Don’t forget to use TopCashBack to earn extra when you sell!
