I called up Bluebird telling them I wanted to close my Serve account to ensure that they close the right account. Instead, they transferred me to Serve and I told the customer service representative to close my account. She gave me this huge speech about keeping the card open, but I declined.
Having the option to load at Walmart for free with prepaid cards with PINs is far too valuable with Bluebird than Serve. Not to mention that I had already established Bluebird with all the bill pays it helped my decision to close Serve.
I would have liked to do the direct deposit challenge for the free $50, but I did not have the time to do it.
