In the past year I have had the Discover card, I have accumulated over $200 cash back, not including the $200 sign up bonus. The quarter with 5% gas, online purchases, and their very generous Shop Discover Portal propelled me to receive all that money back.

As I was paying my bill, I saw the “Extras” for the first time.
It turns out it’s very much like the American Express Sync offers that I receive on my Starwood Preferred card. The only difference is, you do not need to sign up on Discover, it is automatically applied to your card.
In addition to that, I was clicking through the site and noticed that you can use a bill pay feature on Discover and earn 1% back. This feature is identical to US Bank’s online bill pay. If you don’t have a US Bank and have Discover this would be an excellent alternative.
Maybe I’m missing something…but how is the bill payment thing any different than just paying on the biller website with your Discover card? Are there billers in there that aren’t set up to take CC payments themselves?
Correct, there are going to be some billers in there that aren’t set up to take a Discover payment on their own website. Going through the Discover site will allow you to pay your bills using your credit card where you couldn’t previously
