Last week, Lucky from One Mile At A Time posted about Lufthansa first class awards being wide open I tried to take advantage of it, but it turned out it was actually phantom space. After attempting to book I was hit with the seat was unavailable. I was highly disappointed, but then I saw first class availability on ANA in the same route – HND-FRA and a first class ticket from FRA to EWR.
I put the ticket on hold and somehow I had several days to ticket before the reservation disappears. I took a few days to think about it and at the 11th hour, I booked the ticket.
After booking, I thought about it some more and then realized I could not make the dates work so I cancelled it today. I still must burn up my United miles before the devaluation occurs, hopefully I can find some space and some flights that would work out.
