Today, in preparation for pear trees, I went to Home Depot to buy some peat moss. Next to the Home Depot was a Staples, like many vendors, they had a large display of gift cards to be bought. I bought $125 worth of gift cards using my Chase Amazon which would net me a cash value of $2.50.
I love making points and my Chase Amazon is card is not the best card for Staples, but it’s the best return in my wallet. The best would be the Chase Ink. The return is 5x the points on these categories:
- Office Supply Stores – Staples, Office Depot/Max
- Cellular – Verizon, ATT, Sprint
- Land line – Verizon, ATT
- Internet – Verizon FiOS, Cablevision, Time Warner
- Cable TV – Verizon FiOS, Cablevision, Time Warner
2x on hotel and gas, and then 1x the points for everything else. There is a $50,000 spend limit on the 5x and 2x per calendar year. After which, you will earn 1x. Depending on which Ink card you sign up, the bonus and spend requirements vary.
