I came across Miles Remaining’s post on Hotel Award Charts and thought this was a nice chart to bookmark.
Then I saw the chart for Fairmont and every time I see something I’m not familiar with and remember there’s a credit card, I double-check facts. One thing I check is how easy it is to manufacture spend for points using the cobranded credit card.
I went straight to Chase’s hotel credit card section to review the benefits and the Fairmont card is not to be found. Below is the screenshot of Chase’s hotel credit cards in its entirety.
If you Google “Chase Fairmont Credit Card” you will be able to find the card and if you click on the apply now button it’ll lead you to a landing page for the application. To me, it is odd that they delisted it from the Chase page. Let’s see what happens with this credit card. Let’s hope there’s behind the scenes negotiations with the points to redeem for a Fairmont room and having them added as a Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partner. That would be awesome.
This is actually quite common, it’s happened a few times before. It seems to happen on the weekend for some reasons, it should be back by Monday. I remember thinking the same thing the first time I saw it (although in that case even the application links weren’t working).
Just saw from Miles to Memories that you covered it in July, so strange that it’s happening this way!
The website appears to work tonight:
