Ordering Through An Online Portal For Extra Points

I am a huge avid fan of purchasing things online. Just recently, I have begun to change my shopping habit of checking online portals for extra points, miles, and cash back. It is a completely new habit to check the portals. My advice is to always check out evrewards.com (EV for Expected Value for you non statistics/poker players) for which portal to use.
A few weeks ago, I made a few purchases through the Ultimate Rewards mall, used my Chase Sapphire Preferred card, and waited for my points to post. It did not post.
I have called Chase twice about purchasing through the mall and the points not posting. Both times I spoke to very friendly reps. This time, they advised me that if an order does not post right away, generally speaking, the bonus points through the mall will not post. The purchase in question, I pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 about two weeks in advance. I used the Sapphire because I needed to meet the minimum spend for the sign up bonus. Now that I know this tidbit, I also asked the agent does the 7% dividend for the Sapphire Preferred apply? It does not because it is a courtesy adjustment.
The first time I called Chase, I listened to the T&C. I waited 2 billing cycles then I called. The rep investigated and found that I indeed was not credited the extra points. She asked me along the lines if I knew how many points I was expecting. I could not remember how many extra points I was supposed to earn and I gave her an arbitrary number (7x) that I thought it was (turns out the actual number was 5x), and they were posted immediately.
Personally, I like to call up Chase to speak with a rep on the adjustment. I have read online that many people like to write a secure message because they think it’s “easier.” I sent Chase a secure message, and they responded that I contacted them too soon as per the Terms and Conditions on the mall. As a Sapphire card member, Preferred or not, you will speak with a live Chase rep and they can look at any account you have.
