I just went through the Ultimate Rewards and ordered a $100 Staples gift certificate.

This is the point total I’m expecting:
1x points: 102
Through UR mall 2x: 204
7% dividend for using the Sapphire Preferred: (102+204)*.07: 22 (Generally, I’ve seen Chase round up, so I rounded up)
Total points: 328
Once I get the gift card in hand, I will use and redeem for their Visa gift card, through the UR mall to see if I can double dip. Otherwise, I’ll just go to the store and pick up a few Kindle gift cards and use on Amazon. I did lose out about 2% on the fee, but I’m hoping I can double dip for extra points.
