In my last post about gift card churning of a bad experience, they were all relatively minor and had good resolutions. This time, I mailed out a set of gift cards that I had purchased awhile ago, but forgot to sell when I took advantage of the American Express Sync Lowe’s deal.
I also mentioned my plan for Gift Card Churning the other day so I decided to take the plunge and work with another gift card exchange.
I liked that I could earn an extra .5% and picked Gift Card Zen to try out. I set up an account with them, completed all the details, printed out the shipping label, but didn’t follow the directions.
I am so used to mailing out gift cards with an envelope that I didn’t notice on the postage or the website stating that the sale needed to be mailed in a flat rate box. Instead, according to the postal employee, the letter went into the regular mail and was sorted as such and the tracking has been proven useless.
When the gift cards made it close to GCZ, that was when the letter was scanned and took over a week to reach.
Final Thoughts:
Pay attention! Every site is different and something as simple as this could have been completely avoided.
