Gift Card Churn Chase Lowes Category

After I drew up the scenario for the restaurants category, I gave more thought into Chase’s Q2 Lowe’s 5x bonus.

When you sell your Lowe’s gift card the range is 77% to 86%

The best deal that I can think of is asking any of the gift card exchanges to pay out at 92% of the value of the card, but that would be a reach. In order to achieve a $.01/point you would need to use the Chase Freedom + 3x portal bonus like the Ultimate Rewards Mall.

Cardpool sells Lowe’s at a 5% discount

Gift Card

With a 3% spread, it is unlikely they would even agree to something like that since it’s too low to be profitable.

If you don’t take the route of buying Lowe’s card and buying in store, there is no way a gift card churn would even come close to being profitable. You would need a gift card exchange to buy your card at 95% and that’s completely out of the picture.

Final Thoughts:

At this time, I still do not think gift card churning Lowe’s would be profitable. I can’t envision any gift card exchange to bump Lowe’s into the 90% range.
