Within one week, there was a little bit of coverage on the Citi Thank You Business credit card. First from Rapid Travel Chai and then Devil’s Advocate on Frequent Miler. I’ve previously written that the Citi Thank You Points Business card was available only as an in branch application.
I applied for the CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum Select card in April 2015. The offer in branch was 40,000 miles with 2 AA passes. Public online offers were 50,000 miles without the passes. Everyone was excited about the 50,000 mile offer, but the in branch offer was better after the representatives gave the 10,000 mile difference. In August, I converted the Citi AAdvantage Business to the Citi Thank You Points business card, and I screwed up.
The Screw Up
For me, my Citi business cards had a different log in. When my account was product changed, which was only four months old, I had the option to combine Thank You Point accounts. I should not have combined the business account into the personal account. What you want to do is merge the personal Thank You Points account into your business account. Here is what was mailed to me when I product changed
If you read the bullets, it says that you can transfer your Thank You points into frequent flyer accounts. I also stupidly, threw out this pamphlet and have been asking for a benefits guide, but they are not sending me this particular booklet as I am not sure what that book is called. I am also not sure if it was accidentally mailed to me so I can’t exactly confirm. I also can’t reverse the Thank You Points account into separate accounts to experiment. So if anyone is going to product change your Citi American Airlines card instead of closing the account consider doing the Thank You Points account.
