Another American Express Offer – Teavana

I love American Express’ Sync Offers and did a little research on one that I see on the list, Teavana. Teavana within the last year or so had an IPO and shortly after, Starbucks purchased the company.

American Express

According to Slickdeals, you can purchase a gift card from Teavana and use the gift card at Starbucks. This could be an easy 20% savings if you buy $50 at a Teavana or their website.

From Teavana’s site:

I have a Teavana gift card. Can I register it with the My Starbucks Rewards™ program? Teavana Cards issued before April 15, 2013 are not eligible for the program. However, they can be exchanged at a store to transfer the balance to a new Starbucks branded Teavana Card, which can be registered at Starbucks.com/register .

Where can I use my new Teavana Card?
New Teavana cards with the 16 digits on the back and a Starbucks copyright printed at the bottom can be used anywhere that Starbucks Cards are accepted. For example, you may use your new Teavana Card in participating Teavana® retail stores, in participating Starbucks®retail stores and Starbucksstore.com  and other retail stores that accept the Starbucks Card such as Evolution Fresh™ retail stores. At this time, purchases on Teavana.com cannot be made with the Teavana Card or Starbucks Card.

American Express’s Terms:

Offer valid in-store and online at teavana.com. Mexico and Canada locations excluded. If you order an item during the offer period but it is not sent to you until after 12/31/13, it may not count towards determining whether your purchase qualifies for the offer. Limit 1 statement credit per American Express Card across all American Express offer channels. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 8 weeks after American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from the merchant until all of the items from your qualifying purchase have been provided or shipped by the merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you will not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. I will post back and let you know my experience as this will run through 12/31/2013.
