I’m not entirely sure where my head is at the last month. I haven’t been sleeping well. I can’t fall asleep and the times that I do I quickly wake up then stay awake for what feels like fifteen minutes then sleep wake up and the pattern repeats. I like to think my life is relatively stress free, but I haven’t pinpointed what’s bothering me. Either way, I wanted to point out that if you’re not ready and focused, you shouldn’t play the game. The game doesn’t have to be manufactured spending like I normally cover it can be whatever that requires your focus.
In my instance, it was manufactured spending. As you see in the picture above for the American Express Sync Offers, it clearly says Staples.com. I had the longest time to redeem this offer and never got around to doing it. And when I did, I screwed up and it cost me money. Instead of ordering $100 at Staples.com I went in the store and bought $100 worth of gift cards. I waited all day to receive confirmation of redeeming the offer, but didn’t get anything. I logged back in and it was a Homer Simpson D’oh moment. These simple, stupid mistakes will eat into the profitability which isn’t the worst thing in the world, but it was a wake up call for me.
That being said, I don’t advise anyone to do something when they’re not “in it.” You should get straightened out and then get back into it. It could be something simple like missing a turn when you’re driving or far worse where I do not want to imagine.
Hopefully I can get straightened out soon and also get to the bottom of what’s hanging over me.
Too many balls in the air at the same time. You can’t let yourself be consumed by this stuff. Just check out flyer talk and you’ll get it!
Don’t get too discouraged, it happened to me sometimes. Just set a goal on how much miles/CBs you want and focus on it. That should help you.
@Bill – totally! I haven’t been keeping things straight. I wasted time today for not redeeming the Wholefoods offer yesterday when I was there because I couldn’t remember what the spending threshold was.
@Alcwj thanks I will set that plan up, should help me refocus on what I need to do
I used to have occasional bouts of insomnia, but then I had kids. Now–assuming there isn’t a little one screaming–I generally have little trouble falling asleep.
In lieu of kids, a friend recommended melatonin to me – haven’t tried it, and still researching it.
