Through May, here is my performance:
I charged just shy of $6000 with the heaviest load going to my American Airlines card as I had not cleared the minimum spend for the signing bonus, US Bank Cash+, and Ultimate Rewards because I discovered a “gas station” for reload cards.
I probably will put away the Cash+ card because of the latest changes. Only 1 $25 bonus per year, and $2000 max of the 5% category per quarter. A brief thought was to convert the Cash+ into a Flexperks, but when I saw online that Cash+ can only be opened in a branch I removed that idea.
I tried all month to sell my unmentioned gift cards to Cardpool and they would not bite. At this point, I am ready to give up and just use it myself and call it a day. With the closure of Plastic Jungle, I have cooled off gift card churning while I reevaluate the field. I particularly don’t like Card Cash / ABC Gift Cards because they do not provide free shipping for the sale.
Hmm… very interesting on the “gas station”. Would love to expand into that category too.
Is it wrongly coded store, not actual gas station? What sorta reloads are observed there?..
(private message is fine too 🙂 )
I plan on writing out where I purchase my reload packs. Stay tuned!
Thanks!
My experiment on the same failed. Amex is not that stupid. It views the store as “storeonly”, and categorized it as grocery! Ah well, better that drug store 🙂 But still hard to explain on what to spend several hundreds in there at once 🙂
I see VIsa’s categorization as gas on their site…
Update us on VCom atm too 🙂 You promised
I like that you provide the summary as a reference to us but it is not very readable. I create charts for a living so if you want to share the spreadsheet I can send you a good chart template that makes it easy to read.
Sure please send me the spreadsheet on Google Docs if possible, and we can try it out.
Only 41,000 UR points YTD? I guess you don’t do much “shopping” in office supply stores? 😉
Nope, I try not to abuse the Ink card too much at office supply categories. But in the last month, I found some “gas stations,” and I’ll be adding more into that category.
