I attempted to pay my Chase United card with my US Bank Visa Buxx the other day and the transaction was declined.
So far this is what we know.
What doesn’t work:
- Nationwide Visa Buxx
- US Bank Visa Buxx
- Gift cards with PIN
What does work:
- Hat tip to piecerate: My Vanilla Debit
- Paypal Debit
The next card that I want to try out will be my American Express Campus Edition card.
That would be sweet if the Amex Campus Edition card works on the Vcom ATM bill pay, but I shouldn’t get my hopes up. When doing bill pay on the Vcom ATM using My Vanilla Debit, what does it code as on the My Vanilla Debit card transaction record? Does it code as a bill payment, an ATM withdrawal, or a cash advance? If it’s either of the last two, then maybe it’s not a good idea to use the Vcom ATM, because it increases the risk of getting shut down on the My Vanilla Debit.
According to piecerate, on the MVD it’s posted as: CardtronicsATM@7-Eleven.
My interpretation sounds like an ATM withdrawal.
For the sake of experiment I paid with GoBank debit card successfully, I reported previously.
Not that it makes much sense as the bank has it’s own free bill pay, but just as a data point.
Thanks for the data point, it doesn’t make much sense to use the Vcom if there’s free bill pay
In other words, VCOM atms are useless.
I would not go that far and say they are useless. With Visa Buxx, yes because Visa Buxx will decline the transaction.
Vcomm works with My Vanilla Debit and Paypal Debit.
Did you use SunTrust Delta debit card at Vcom? I used it twice, the transaction is appeared as POS. Unfortunately, it looks like that these transactions did not earn SkyMiles (according my calculations). What was your experience?
Hey there, no I never used a SunTrust Delta, I’m not a cardholder.
I cannot find “citibank” as payee. Is there a way to pay citibank at Vcom ATM?
That is interesting, so far, I’ve only paid American Express. I will have to try and find Citibank and report back for you
Thanks. I paid AMEX, US Bank successfully. There is an option to pay Chase though, but no Citibank so far.
