Updates on Teavana Churn and Walmart + Citi

I had written about an American Express Sync Offer with Teavana and buying $100+ on Walmart.com and using your Citi card on a Tuesday and here are my updates:

  • I can’t transfer funds from the Teavana gift card to my Starbucks gift card. It’s possible I received an older series of Teavana’s gift cards and that’s why I can’t transfer
  • My Walmart order for the $100 gift card is a fail. I did not receive a $10 e-gift card from Walmart. I can only think that Citi and Walmart paired up really well to ensure gift card purchases are excluded as per the terms & conditions.

  • Teavana card worked fine for me. 16-digit one with Starbucks in text on the back.
First used the Teavana physical card at Starbucks one day.
Then added it to my account online. Then paid with my phone from that linked Teavana card in Starbucks today.

    • Thanks for the heads up. I wonder if Teavana sent me the wrong gift card, because during the purchase it asked if you wanted the new series of numbers or the old series on the gift card. My GC number starts off with 6035. What did yours start off with? Did it have a mag stripe? Mine doesn’t, just a bar code and the usual GC # and PIN

      • It does have magnetic stripe (and no barcode). This is how Starbuck guy swiped my physical Teavana card time I used it. Mine # looks like 6089 xxxx xxxx xxxx

I bought it in Teavana shop in Manhattan (80-th street something East). I asked cashier if it will work at Starbucks to double check Internet head ups. She was positive. Also checked Starbacks in text on the back of the card…
