Great Flights (some left, some not, and they do exist)
- This was a fantastic week of flight deals. For example, there was $400-700 from Washington DC and others to Europe; and New York and others to India from $200.
- Oh, and if you are curious where most of the flight deals come from, here’s an interview with The Flight Deal team.

- For Southwest Airline fans – a major provision of the Wright Amendment has passed, as Seth of Wandering Aramean provides some of the story, but, fair warning, it is a bittersweet story. I’ll give you the brief bit – Love Field is still limited to 20 gates, so in effect, this effect makes Southwest a powerhouse there with 16 of those gates. As Seth posted last month, there is no Love for Delta, or is there?
- BigHabitat poses the question – is earning 7,500 AAdvantage miles worth the time it takes to test drive a Cadillac? I think so (but, hey, I also wouldn’t mind test driving a Caddy for kicks).

- Maximizing Money alerts us to a limited duration promotion where AMEX Blue Cash cardholders can get an extra 2% at Whole Foods. I’ve never been in a Whole Foods before, but I see myself visiting there a whole lot now.
Don’t know how I missed Max’s writeup on extra cash from the Amex Blue at Whole Foods, but I am glad to know! My husband just applied for one of the Blue cards today! Thanks for posting; you know I am your fan 😉 !
@Elaine – I haven’t had the chance to make it to Whole Foods yet, but I’m hopeful they’ll have something to MS with. Awesome that your husband has an AMEX Blue to take advantage of this! Thanks for commenting!
Well, we are hoping he’ll get approved but I would be surprised if he didn’t. Whole Foods, at least here, has lots more than just grocery items. I bet you could do some holiday shopping there. Enjoy!
PS – Are you going to PHX for the DO?
Fingers crossed that he gets approved! Glad to hear that Whole Foods has more than just groceries (I’ve actually never been in one, but we do have some within a short drive). Unfortunately I can’t make it to PHX, will be in Hong Kong (had been booked since before the CharlotteDO).
I’m of two minds about the Whole Foods promo. They are remarkably overpriced, IMO. I can get the same brands for way more than 2% less at our local organic food coop. That said, a visit to Austin TX isn’t complete without visiting their flagship store.
@MickiSue – I was thinking more from the perspective of MS… I didn’t make it to a store this weekend (its not the closest), but am hopeful they actually sell GCs. I’d definitely support local stores for organic food, although I’m guilty of getting a bunch of our monthly stuff at Costco.
