Travel:
- Paris experienced a horrific terrorist attack this past weekend. Over 100 people were killed. There were bombs, there was hostage taking. It was anything but pretty. Ed shares a part of the whole situation that, I’ll be honest, would not have occurred to me. It’s a good read.
- Australian Business Traveller reports that American Airlines will offer pajamas on their flights to Australia, which is actually consistent with what Qantas does. Kudos for the two to be aligned.
- Australian Business Traveller reports that Marriott will buy Starwood. This could be good, this could be bad, but we won’t know for a little while what the impact on the loyalty programs are. I for one, am seriously thinking about transferring my SPG points to Alaska…
- Dia the Deal Mommy writes about Heroes Vacation Club, a program oriented toward First Responders that provides discounted weekly rentals. It’s great to see programs like this exist!
Miles and Points:
- Frequent Miler reports that Chase is offering an added Chase Freedom category bonus, where between 23 November and the end of the year, you can get 10% cashback up to $1,500 per card.
- Gary Leff reports that this past Sunday, Chase instituted a new change to who you can transfer ultimate rewards points to.
- Seth Miller, the Wandering Aramean, reports that United has discounts on economy award travel to Europe in early next year!
Reselling:
- Oren shares a Public Service Announcement. Peanuts are beloved by Amazon. I got a nasty gram (with a photo!) last year, and was remiss in sharing the same PSA.
- PF Digest analyzes the various BJ’s Wholesale club memberships. It’s an interesting read, although I’m still partial to Costco.
AvGeek:

- American Airlines’ TWA Livery is out of the paint shop, and hopefully flying to an airport near you soon!
- American Airlines will treat the Inaugural passengers on their LAX-SYD flight to a rather pricey bottle of wine. This may even beat Hennessy Paradis!
- Qantas bumps DFW-SYD up to 7 days a week, in April 2016 (it currently doesn’t fly on Tuesdays), of course LAX loses out. Perhaps this is a victim of all the new capacity announcements from American?
