Long commute got you down? Done with filing TPS reports day in and day out? Did someone steal your clearly labelled sandwich from the fridge for the last time?
Sounds like you need to GTFO.
Get The Flight Out, that is. The next flight, the soonest flight, the flight that departs right now to anywhere, as long as it’s far, far away from here.
This neat little app will show you all the flights departing from your home airport tonight – or tomorrow for those who like to plan stuff out or whatever.
GTFO makes no promises that flying now will be be cheaper than flying later, but who cares? This app is for when you need to get out now. Save yourself from your ever-imminent mega meltdown! Telling your boss/TA/other authority figure where to stick that TPS report/paper/other work product is not a good idea, no matter how many times you replay that glorious scenario in your head.
Admittedly, I was a bit disappointed at first. For example, Fort Lauderdale and Syracuse aren’t exactly at the top of my must-see list, especially not for these prices:
But patience (and additional scrolling) may very well be rewarded with destinations that just might put your sanity back in check.
Barranquilla? Cartagena? Barcelona? Unwinding over a glass of sangria in a hidden alley in Ciutat Vella doesn’t sound like the worst thing in the world. Or you could just hop on over to Belgrade, because Serbia is cool too.
So what’re you waiting for? Your much-needed vacation – or last minute adventure – awaits.
You can download GTFO, currently available on iOS, for free on iTunes. Learn more about the app here.
Now that I ponder over the interesting choice of artwork (Pierce Brosnan returns as 007), this app might actually be for secret agents in dire need of a quick getaway. There’s an app for everyone nowadays.
