Copenhagen is a wonderful place. And though I’ve never been, I’m sure Oslo and Stockholm are too. Thanks to some friendly competition amongst our favorite airlines, you can now fly to Scandinavia, from various U.S. cities, starting at just $595 for summer travel.
This last bit is significant, because usually it is much more expensive to travel to Europe during the summer.
It all started with United setting their sights on American hubs:
Dallas [DFW], Philadelpha [PHL], Miami [MIA] to Oslo [OSL], Stockholm [ARN], Copenhagen [CPH]
- $595-675 on United, valid April-July for Monday and Friday departures
With American responding cautiously at first:
Los Angeles [LAX] to Copenhagen [CPH]
- $651+ on American, also valid April-July for Monday and Friday departures (hmm..)
And then calling its allies abroad (British Airways and other oneworld partners) to respond in full-force:
Houston [IAH], Washington [IAD], Denver [DEN], San Francisco [SFO] to Oslo [OSL], Stockholm [ARN], Copenhagen [CPH]
- $650+ on American, relatively open availability through July
- Search fares on matrix.itasoftware.com, with flexible dates set to a 7-day stay range (e.g., 1-8, 2-10, etc.).
These fares might not be as cheap what you might find on Norwegian, but Norwegian’s $250 round-trip fares are usually for the off-season (think January-February 2016). And from what I hear, Scandinavia’s a bit warmer and nicer to walk around in the summer.
