Iron Maiden’s Ed Force One 747-400 visited Boeing recently, and they put together a pretty cool video that you can get to by navigating here, since I can’t figure out how to embed Boeing’s video.

I’m not sure if the visit to Boeing had anything to do with a minor incident that occurred down in Chile a few months back, but regardless, it’s cool that lead singer Bruce Dickinson–who also pilots Ed Force One by the way–to do a little bit of an interview with Boeing, during the visit. The video further shows that they invited a bunch of Boeing employees onboard to tour the aircraft and chat about a variety of things–the plane, music, etc.

I find it interesting that Dickinson highlights the true value of having a 747-400 is that they are able to do “a European Itinerary on an intercontinental basis.” I’d imagine having an aircraft with that kind of range really does make it easy to get to just about anywhere for a show.

From the few views in the cabin, it looked like the seating was fairly modern (maybe even slimline) but, they only showed economy seating. I’ve got to believe that they have layflats somewhere on the aircraft (perhaps in the nose or the upper deck), but they didn’t show any, unfortunately.

Still, the plane is one of a kind, and pretty eye catching. I’m sure the coolest part is of it as an #avgeek is when you look over and see Ed Force One on the tarmac.
