It was a big deal when ANA announced that they would be taking on the A380’s that Skymark had ordered, as part of the agreement to take control of the bankrupt airline. It was clear that these A380’s would be flying to Hawaii, so it is no surprise that an ANA Hawaii A380 livery would be announced at some point.
ANA Hawaii A380 Livery – Flying Honu
ANA Announced that this will be the livery for its Tokyo-Honolulu service, which is expected to launch in the spring of 2019. The design was selected from nearly 2,200 submissions. The winning design was created by Chihiro Masuoka of Tokyo, a concept he called “Sea Turtle Family”, the Honu, or Green Sea Turtle is Hawaiian symbol of good luck and prosperity.
This is just the latest in ANA’s very cool Liveries, like the R2-D2 787, another set of Star Wars liveries, and finally, A C3PO Livery. ANA isn’t the only airline embracing pretty cool liveries, JetBlue recently released their Blueprint livery.
What do you think of the new ANA Hawaii A380 livery?
