Deals in Action: London Shopping

Thanks, British Airways!

Thanks, British Airways!

As I wait for final settlement of my claim from the debacle with British Airways, I wanted to share a couple of stores I discovered that may be new to you. The one bonus of arriving in a strange country with nothing but your purse is that you get to buy a whole new look! If you’re in London, these two stores are definitely worth a stop-in.

Primark: Primark is basically a Target…but on Oxford street they have opened two”posh” locations. I spent over an hour in the one near the Marble Arch tube station and marveled in three stories of awesomeness. You get a VAT refund by spending 50 pounds and I struggled to get that high! The most expensive thing I bought (besides the luggage, which was 21 pounds), was a pair of jeans for 7 pounds. Sweaters were 5 pounds, T-shirts were 1-3 pounds, and I got a scarf that got me numerous compliments in the Hyatt Churchill for, wait for it, three pounds.

Evans (UK and Ireland): I found Evans when we lived in Dublin and was thrilled to find them now shipping to the US. In London they’re right down from the Primark. Highly recommend for sizes 12 and up, especially for lingerie that’s well-fitting without being industrial.

What’s your favorite wearable souvenir?

Evans (US)
