Note: I’m gallivanting the world at the moment, so this is likely to be lighter than usual, anticipate to be similar next week. My apologies in advance.

Travel
- Tokyo City Hall should be on your list to visit, next time you’re in Tokyo. Here’s why.
- Free-quent Flyer writes a counter argument to the Hyatt Diamond Status Challenge that has been popular. Although his argument is really a show of support of Hilton status.
- Travel Weekly writes about a survey done to estimate the economic value of the ME3 to the US. The numbers are interesting.
- Adventurous Kate shares all the reasons that she doesn’t do carry-ons. I’m one of the carry-on guys that always carries on, but, she does make a couple of valid points.
- Last week, United announced that they were moving all of their PS flights (b/w JFK and SFO and LAX) to Newark, thus ending 65 or so years of United operations at Newark. Fairly soon after that announcement, JetBlue upped their game. Seth Miller has the write-up.
- If you thought JetBlue upping the game from JFK was nice, a few days later, they announced that they will be expanding Mint to fly transcontinental flights out of Boston… Now if only JetBlue would expand that to Washington, DC – that would be great.
- Gary Leff had the chance to preview some positive changes to American Airlines’ first class domestic and transcontinental meal service, as well as lounge offers. On the whole, they look good, although, far too much surf and turf for me (but I’m not big on fish).
- Continuing on the American Airlines topic, Tiffany, writing for One Mile at a Time shares a single sentence that can save you a ton of money when booking American Airlines Awards.
- Jeanne, Le Chic Geek, and reforming US Airways flyer is embracing the New American Overlords. What caused this breakthrough? Half & Half in the Admirals Club.
- Oh, and if you’re going to Bali anytime soon, they’ve waived the Visa on Arrival fee for 45 countries, including the US.
Manufactured Spending
- Matt wrote a thoughtful addition to the discussion of stockpiling gift cards. While you’re at it, check out the comments from my post that he was responding to.
- Alaska Airlines may now be cracking down on people applying for multiple Bank of America cards. This is unfortunate, but given posts by Million Mile Secrets, and others, its not surprising that more and more people would be attempting to open multiples of the cards.
- Chasing the Points reflects on how different Manufactured Spending can be, even moving just a short distance (like from Manhattan to the Garden State).
Reselling
- Gift Card Wiki, a great tool for gift card resellers, continues to innovate.
Miles and Points
- dcta shares a way to identify hidden star alliance award inventory, and how to convince Aeroplan agents to find it.
- Frequent Miler updates his Ultimate Rewards strategy in light of disturbing news from Chase.
