Travel:
- Boeing is filing patents for a self cleaning lavatory, with a greater focus on touchless everything. One wonders whether Boeing might include the bidet option found on Japan Airlines and ANA’s 787’s and 77W’s… then it truly would be touchless everything…
- Gary Leff shares the continuing discord between American Airlines’ pilots and management, as well as the history that contributes to it.
- American Airlines will fly LAX to Hong Kong. More great news for LAX-based flyers, but I’m increasingly feeling a lack of love for East Coast flyers, what with us losing some of the 777-300ERs from the JFK-LHR route, and no Asia connections (despite Cathay flying a bunch for JFK).
- Abu Dhabi’s Midfield Terminal may yet still open, now with a new deadline.
- Qatar Airways announced 14 new destinations this week, none in the US, a lot in Europe and Africa.
- United and Air New Zealand announced a new Joint Venture, making New Zealand quite the competitive landscape.
Miles and Points:
- Pizza in Motion shares details of the new Barclay’s JetBlue credit card line-up, they seem generally positive to me.
Reselling:
- Oren reminds us – when Amazon says 50 pounds is the max per box, they really mean it.
