Nik, who writes Inflight Feed, has launched a Kickstarter to put together a film focused on, you guessed it, airline cuisine, specifically, inflight meals.
He’s shared a number of shorter videos behind how airline meals are made, via his youtube channel.
In a mere 90 minute film, he plans to take on important aspects of inflight meals, such as the first inflight meals, and visit a number of premier airlines (Turkish and Cathay Pacific to name a couple), and see how they prepare the often wonderful inflight meals.
Nik also plans to interview a collection of renowned chefs that put together the menus for airlines like Qantas.
We might also get an eye into various partnerships that brought KFC and McDonalds onboard for inflight meals.
The Kickstarter has a goal for $74,049, and various levels of support, that include the opportunity to join Nik as he samples first and business class inflight meals from the likes of Cathay Pacific, Do & Co Catering in Istandbul, and Qantas.
Just reading through Nik’s kickstarter, if there’s one thing that comes to mind, it is that no two airlines take the same approach toward inflight meals. I’ll be very interested to see the film when it is released. Will you?
