I’m currently traveling around South East Asia, but earlier in the week, when I was deciding what shoes to wear on this trip, I noticed how worn my daily loafers looked.
Normally, I don’t bring these shoes on “beach” or warm weather trips, they don’t fit in as well as my docksiders. But I decided to bring the loafers because I knew we had some time to visit the Japan Airlines First Class lounge in Haneda, where I found out last time, that they shine shoes.
So of course, this was the logical option, right? Well, before you say yes or no, I suppose I should show you the resulting shined loafers:
So what do you think?
Have you ever packed differently to leverage a lounge perk enroute to your destination?
No. 🙂
Absolutely no! Brown loafers with baggy blue jeans are a fashion disaster. Something I’d expect to see an old man who just doesn’t care anymore.
Like your blog though.
Those are two-tone black and brown loafers. They go with EVERYTHING. 😀
Those jeans and shoes have to go. It is unsalvageable.
Thank you! I’ve always felt that to travel out of a carry on, things need to be interchangeable, a la two tone loafers.
Comments are too funny. Do have to say on my visit to Japan last week, I felt out of place with my jeans and hiking boots. The Japanese are a very snazzy dressing society. I just can’t do skinny jeans though. Too restrictive.
Yeah, I tried the whole skinny jeans thing, didn’t last long. Great comments all btw!
But remember the adage “It’s better to look good than to feel good.”
Lol, is that really a saying? May have to redo my wardrobe
Yeah, you’ve got to tighten that up a bit. You don’t have to go full skinny though. And the key to tolerating skinier jeans is to only buy ones with lots of stretch in them. If you buy skinny, traditional, non-stretchy denim, noone will be happy.
