I’ve had a number of folks e-mail or message with recommendations for hotels. So, while I haven’t gotten around to e-mailing any of them to see whether or not I could get room blocks, I thought at the very least, I would provide the hotels that I think most folks would probably enjoy staying at.

Of course the closest hotel is right across the street:

20k points per night (sorry, not an expert on IHG, maybe why I’ve never made it to the InterContinental Thelasso)
Okie, so there are the options I can offer.
A few other notes
If you’re coming from BWI Airport, there’s a lightrail station that will take you into the city. Or you can take an Uber or taxi.
Trevor, will there be additional tickets for sale?
@Mark – Only a few tickets may be released based on the waitlist, with maybe 1 or 2 giveaways.
I currently have a reservation at Hotel RL Baltimore Inner Harbor. Any thoughts on this? Not bookable on points, but the cash price would be tax deductible as a business expense.
@Jason – believe it or not, I’ve never stayed at a Kimpton hotel before. I’ve heard wonderful things about them though!
@Jason: I’m thinking of there, too, as thyme offered me a discount deal. Stayed at the Kimpton in DC AT Thomas Circel last month, and it was wonderful. OTOH, I’m elite w/Hilton, so would get upgraded at either of their hotels near inner harbor.
I looked at the casino. For one night: nothing.
Let’s see…I’ve got 52K IHG points expiring in 88 days, so I’ll probably take that option even though the area looks a bit meh. And .8 cents per point is a decent value to get out of these points.
Anyone looking to go out on Friday night? Debating on staying at the Aloft at the airport for my first stay for 3000 points or to head right downtown when I land on Friday night.
Assuming I get a ticket–still on waitlist–I’ll go into town on Friday night, and stay at airport on Saturday night–I have an early flight on Sunday.
Besides, it’s always better, for any attempts at qualifying elite on stays, to break up nights into multiple stays.
