Below are five excerpts promoting the Chase Sapphire Preferred First Friday program. See if you can guess which passages were written by the Chase corporate marketing department and which were written by bloggers! I’ll send out the answers on Twitter later on.
Here you go:
(A) Chase Sapphire Preferred® cardholders now have one more reason to enjoy Fridays, with the card’s new First Friday Favorites dining at restaurants rewards program and Facebook app, cardholders will earn three points for every one dollar spent on dining on the first Friday of each month. The new program provides one bonus point in addition to the two points for every dollar spent that cardholders already enjoy when they dine out.
(B) Today you earn 3X points on dining with your Chase Sapphire Preferred card. You usually get 2X points with your Chase Sapphire Preferred card for dining. But on the 1st Friday of every month, you get 1 extra Chase Ultimate Rewards point per dollar.
(C) Mark your calendar for the First Friday of every month. You’ll earn 3X the points on dining in restaurants all day.
(D) It’s time to earn 3x points on dining purchases today if you have the Chase Sapphire or Sapphire Preferred cards. And remember, earning 3x points with your Sapphire Preferred really means earning 3.21x points per $1 thanks to its 7% annual points dividend.
(E) As if there wasn’t enough to love about the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Chase has brought a popular promotion is back for another year: just like in 2013, in 2014 you’ll earn 3X points per dollar spent at restaurants on the first Friday of every month with your Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card!
UPDATE: A and C are Chase. Congratulations to those who correctly guessed!

A,B,C are Chase. D is a blogger. E, I’m not sure but I’l guess blogger.
harvson3 says
C and E are Chase, rest are pitchwomen/pitchmen. Adding the registered trademark symbol, in a run-on sentence, is taking it to the next, ridiculous, level. D must also be old.
Nurse Traveler says
B, D, and E are Bloggers. A and C are Chase.
I like this game. You should do more of these. It would be fun if you could actually have a survey which populated the percentages.

LMAO
Nick says
I’d say:
D is a blogger – I’ve never seen Chase get into multiples of 0.07.
B is also a blogger – and one who summoned an elementary school level of the English language to write it. Come on! Don’t be so lazy! Surely you can do better than the Chase marketing department! Aim higher!
E is also a blogger – this time a lazy one who likes to cut and paste but doesn’t proof read.

I am still filling out my last name with the #2 pencil, I always hated these tests!

There semes to be a lot of self righteousness towards other bloggers on Saverocity.
MileageUpdate says
“Self Righteousness” whoa there. Some people might call that one of the “Angries”
HansGolden says
A is Chase. B, C, D, E are bloggers.
harvson3 says
Incorrect. There is in fact a lot of self-righteousness toward the Chase marketing department on Saverocity.
pfdigest says
Ever since the days of the Chase AARP card, I would characterize my attitude toward Chase’s marketing department as mirthful.
Max says
This is a great game. I had to double-check to make sure I didn’t write one.
A – Chase
B – Blogger, because they started with “Today,” so I assume they posted on a Friday, and Chase would probably not create content just for the one day like that, unless they post it on their Facebook page or in an email.
C – Chase
D – Blogger
E – Blogger, unless Chase now talks about themselves in the third person.
Now, there should maybe be a third category for content that was written by the Chase marketing department, but actually posted by bloggers, because that scenario could make things tricky.
Thanks for the good time.

If TBB can’t ace this test, nobody can! 😀
Chasing The Points says
I am stealing my answers from Nurse Traveler.
Reason being, A & C don’t have present tense dates to describe the day being a Friday.
I also don’t recall seeing Chase cadence for 3.21x on points, I only remember bloggers saying that
E also has a grammatical mistake and Chase wouldn’t allow that “Chase has brought a popular promotion is back”
What do we win?
bighabitat says
I’m going with A as Chase because of the registered trademark symbol after preferred. The rest I’ll go with bloggers as I’m not sure if Chase would refer to it as 2x and 3x, they certainly wouldn’t put 3.21x.
Joe says
Would you say that you take umbrage to their practices? Anyway – it’s later on and I haven’t seen any answers! Quit holding out 🙂

All Bloggers all the time. You left somethings out such as: How wonderful and a great card the CSP card is now that they added CDW but took (are taking) away the 7% kickback on money spent. Step right up, step right up. The vision that comes to mind is the old Coney Island carnival barkers with loud jacket, boater straw hat and rattan cane.
