(Note: those of you without babies, read on–this may still be useful to you.)
Something I recently found out: the Buy Buy Baby chain–pretty much the same thing as Babies “R” Us–is owned by Bed, Bath, and Beyond, which I suppose explains all the B’s. Why am I telling you this? Because all their gift cards and coupons operate on one system.
In other words, you know those 20% off coupons that BB&B likes to send out? You can use those at Buy Buy Baby. (Sign up your email address here for a coupon.) The BB&B gift cards you can get from credit card points? They work at the baby place too.
And for those of you without kids, it works the other way. If you visit Buy Buy Baby’s website, you can sign up your email here or your mobile phone (text OFFER to 42229) for more 20% coupons, all of which are good at BB&B. If you get on the baby store’s mailing list, they send out other coupons as well, such as $5 of $15.
You can save a little more on all the crap your kid needs (or the crap that you think they need but which they really don’t need but you’re buying it anyway because you’re a first-time parent and that’s what first-time parents do) with the Bed Bath and Beyond credit card, which gives you 5% rewards at both stores.
And since I mentioned 5% rewards: in case anybody’s wondering, I’ve already checked, and neither chain carries Visa/MC/Amex gift cards in denominations higher than $100. Not the stores I’ve checked, anyway.
That’s all for today. Hopefully my long hours at work will let up soon and/or there will be some sweet bank/credit card offers so I can resume my usual more lengthy entries.
