Look what came in the mail today!
Mrs. PFD somehow managed to get herself pre-approved for a 50,000-point offer from Fifth Third bank–and these appear to be real points, not KeyBank points or PNC points. The minimum spend is only $2,000 and the annual fee is waived the first year. AND it’s not from one of the big players!
All of which is to say, keep an eye on your mailbox. I hadn’t seen the thread before now, but on Flyertalk some other folks reported a similar (and also invitation-only) offer a few months ago.
AND IN OTHER NEWS: I’ve been out all week but I’d like to offer belated congratulations to Saverocity’s esteemed founder Matt and his wife on the birth of their first child! Good luck and I hope you get some sleep, Matt.
Have a great weekend everybody!

Are these only available for those that were pre-approved/received it in the mail?

As best I can tell, yes. The one we received is invitation-only, and judging by the FT thread, that was the case with the earlier wave. I couldn’t find any good offers on 53.com either.

Interesting. I have two friends that are high up the management chain locally. I’ll see if there’s a way around that and report back.

Please do, thanks!

I talked to both a Financial Advisor and a Branch Manager(2 of my closest friends) and it’s a no-go so far without the mailer. Both said they’d see if there were any loopholes. They’ve had regular customers try to get it by walking in but they have to look up their account and see if they were targeted by the mailer.

Good to know, thanks for giving it a try!
