There’s easy money to be had from Capital One 360 today! They’re continuing the ING Direct tradition of a Black Friday sale. You can get $75 for opening a savings account, $125 for opening a checking account, and $150 for opening a Sharebuilder account and making three trades. Your kids can also get $25 each for opening a kids’ savings account. Here’s the full ad:
Note that the bonuses are for first-time customers only. Note also that the link at the beginning of the article is a referral link, so I’ll get $20 if you open an account. This referral bonus is open to all, so if you like you can log in and get your own referral link and pass it around to your friends.

Do you know if there’s a hard credit pull for opening a savings account? I know Crap One has been finnicky with this kind of stuff in the past.
pfdigest says
I’m pretty sure there’s a hard pull.
Jeremy says
I’m very disappointed about the fact that this is a hard pull and it wasn’t mentioned in the post.
pfdigest says
Fair enough, I’ll try to do a better job on that next time.
John says
It’s certainly great information to include if it’s available, but at the end of the day it is a consumer’s responsibility to investigate his/her financial decisions beyond the information provided by a blog.
I understand Jeremy’s disappointment, but I think it’s caused by Capital One’s obnoxious account practices, not pfdigest’s author.
Thanks for responding so quickly to my inquiry about the hard pull and please keep up the awesome posts.
pfdigest says
Thanks John, I appreciate it!

Only for the checking account and it’s avoidable.
