As I’ve mentioned in the past, the Chase Ink cards have some of the best sign up bonuses out there. Well, to celebrate small business week, Chase has increased the sign up bonuses until June 22! The best offers in my opinion are either the Ink Bold or Ink Plus card which give you 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points after $5000 of spending in three months. Those are 10,000 more points than the already lucrative standing offer of 50,000! The rest of this post will just address a few of the questions you might have. [Read more…]
Getting an International Driver’s Permit
For my upcoming trip to Italy this summer, I decided to get an International Driver’s Permit. I’ve read mixed reports on whether you need one or not (you definitely don’t need one to rent a car), but purportedly if you get pulled over and the Italian Police ask for it, you could receive a hefty fine of up to a couple hundred Euros. Even when I heard that, I wasn’t going to get the permit, but then I found out it only costs $15 at AAA. Thus, I decided I’d rather be a sucker who pays $15 than a sucker who pays 300 Euro. Also, since we’re traveling to Italy with Baby M, I’d rather not deal with the stress. Anyway, getting the permit was pretty straightforward, here’s how:
Elara: A Hilton Grand Vacations Hotel Las Vegas Impressions
I recently stayed at the Elara in Las Vegas, which is a Hilton Grand Vacations property. At the time of booking, I wanted to earn as many Hilton points as possible, but of course, now I don’t care since HHonors got devalued. Still, I kept my reservation because it was the most economical 1 bedroom suite I could find and there were four of us staying there. Here are my impressions of the property.
Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Impressions
Whenever I rent cars, I just tend to go with whatever is cheapest or I can find coupons for. I’ve never really dabbled in loyalty programs, but signed up for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards before my recent trip to Las Vegas. Reading about the program online proved very confusing, and I didn’t know what to expect – but here are my impressions.

In the good old days, before I even got into it (unfortunately), you could net 150,000 AAdvantage miles in one day without breaking a sweat. Even crazier, they would count to million miler status. Alas, those days have gone, and it’s gotten even harder than when I built up my AA balance. Still, there are options to get a lot of AA miles in a short amount of time, and a lot of great redemptions to be had. So let’s get into the brass tacks.
