American Airlines has an extensive list of credit card partners. I was curious what AA cards are like elsewhere so I decided to see how things are in my wife’s home country, which is how I found out about the Credomatic Aadvantage Prestige Amex.
The 7,000-mile sign-up bonus is pretty lame, but the T&C’s say that you can get Gold status via credit card spend, and all you have to do is spend $72,000 per year. You also get Priority Pass membership with 10 free admission as well as entrance to the VIP lounge at Managua’s airport. This lounge is not covered under Priority Pass or any other program that I’m aware of, and they take care of your check-ins and baggage claims, so that’s actually a nice perk.
There does not seem to be an annual fee, though the card is apparently by invitation only.
Interestingly enough, there’s also a LifeMiles card which offers two miles per dollar spent, though that one also has an annual fee of $200.
