Agree with MA. Annual fee is almost covered by airline credits and you get a sign on bonus. Then add the significantly reduced other benefits and you still get some value.
I’ll anyone wants $400 of travel credit for $450 let me know. As far as the sign up bonus, better to use the opportunity cost for PRG or BRG and get a superior bonus and superior card with first year fee waived. Platinum will exclude you from getting a bonus on those cards. About the only reason to get or keep Platinum is the castrated lounge benefits, global entry, and/or the travel insurance but that’s really stretching hard to find a reason.
At least as of a few months ago it was still possible to signup for a personal platinum with the first year fee waived using the Ameriprise link (including no fee for up to three additional cards). No MR signup bonus, but all the perks of having the cards. I think that is worth it if you want lounge access and GE credit for 4 people (plus the travel credits of course).
