Via Fatwallet Financial, TD Bank is offering a $200 sign up bonus plus 5% cash back for six months on gas, groceries, dining, and utilities (no drugstores, alas) when you sign up for their TD Easy Rewards Visa. What’s the catch? The catch is that you have to live in the bank’s footprint (FL, SC, NC, VA, DC, MD, DE, NJ, NY, MA, RI, NH, VT, ME) plus you have to open the account in-branch if you don’t already bank with them.
It may be of interest to those of you on the east coast. $200 is a decent bonus, 5% is very good as well, and the two of them together is even better. I have no idea how TD Bank’s credit lines are, nor do I know how they handle people who like to make large purchases at gas stations and supermarkets, though anybody who has experience with this bank’s credit cards is welcome to chime in below.

It is a very good offer. When I got my first one I got 10k points but this is better. I just submitted for my wife who was soon to apply for one anyway. Maybe too early though… we hope she gets it.
now lets just hope all here don’t go on about exactly what to do with the card. We all should know by now so there’s no need for specifics.

Do you know of any account opening bonuses with TD? Might as well double down.
marathon man says
I dunno of any off hand in my area (MA) but its worth asking a branch.

I had this card a while back as well. My only issue was the small credit line they gave me and the online interface isn’t the most advanced like the bigger banks.

I applied in branch a week ago and still haven’t heard their decision. They said 7-10 days. I have applied for quite a few cards this year and am worried that despite my excellent credit score they might have a problem with my having so many other cards. I have no information about how this bank handles apps.
Marathon man says
My experience with them is that you should have applied for nothing within 4-5 months and be sure to have their bank acct too

Good news. Approved with $10k CL, do not have an account except for TD card. My last apps were in June.
