US Airways is having some great promotions on Twitter for Washington National based travelers to celebrate their expansion into DCA. Earlier this week they held a flash sale I couldn’t resist: $130 round trip tickets to Montreal for the last week of August. I grabbed three for me and the deal kids (ages 5 and 9) and we’re headed North in four weeks! At $390, it was less than I would have spent for both of them to go to camp for a week.
So, Camp Mom needs you help! I’ve just downloaded the tourism guide to my kindle but know NOTHING about the area. We have four nights. I’d like to redeem points for hotels (we have Priority Club, Carlson, Marriott, and a few Hilton/Hyatt) and be near the metro. I’m torn between splitting the time between Montreal/Quebec City or just keeping it simple. Please share your finds and tips for Francophone Canada!
I like the quick response.
Question: I am relatively new to this “pay with points ” world and keep reading about specail fare sales or flash sales. How and where are some good sites to sign up for hte notification of these? I sit at a computer all day and have the flexibility to travel so I think I am an idela candidate – just need the hook up
Thanks
Pete
Hi Pete,
Twitter is your best bet. I try to highlight the best, but the blogs’ twitter feeds @MilMileSecrets, @thepointsguy at the ones @BoardingArea will give you a pretty good start. I also follow the chains I like best (all have twitter feeds) and @AmericanExpress for their great promos. Actually, you can just browse who I follow to get an idea! Good luck, and be sure to share any great deals you see.
Another idea…the “mystery auctions” at Luxury Link. Make sure you have your $100 first! If you’re super-flex, there are some fun options there.
