OneWorld Premium Award Space, Park Hyatt Vienna, Points Transfer Times

August 11, 2017 By Trevor Leave a Comment

The Weekly Travel News Roundup is a collection of headlines from around the internet that caught the attention of the Tagging Miles team. Content on these blogs do not necessarily reflect the positions of Tagging Miles, and should not be considered endorsements. Have a great story we should read? Contact us now and let us know.

Travel:

  • My friend Spencer was recently interviewed by RewardStock. It’s a good read.
  • The first in a series of posts on the Park Hyatt Vienna – I can’t wait to see the rest… I’ve wanted to get to Vienna, but the last time I had the opportunity, the Park Hyatt was unavailable – believe it or not, I cancelled the weekend trip because of it!
  • Qantas First Class award space was briefly available — there might still be some available – you never know.
  • Speaking of award availability – American has released a bunch of business class availability too!

Credit Cards:

  • There is a new “premium” card (I put that in quotes because the fee is only $95) on the way to the market. Bank of America is jumping into the foray!

Tagging Miles:

  • How long does it take to transfer Citi Thank You Points to Etihad Guest?
  • Ebates Member Appreciation Day -12% Cashback!

Singapore 70th Anniversary Hennessy Paradis Imperial, Bad PaxEx, Qatar News

June 15, 2017 By Trevor 1 Comment

Here’s an impromptu roll-up from some of the interesting things I’ve seen over the past few weeks – including a rare bottle of Singapore 70th Anniversary Hennessy Paradis Imperial. I’ll have a more complete Weekly Round-up tomorrow, but here’s a brief one for your idle–or not so idle–Thursday.

  • Lots of activity in the Middle East last week, I think Seth sums up some of the issues best. Qatar’s CEO has finally spoken out, too.
  • Have you noticed how many different premium products there are lately? Like at the same few airlines? Confusing, isn’t it? John Walton argues that this is recipe for a poor passenger experience (PaxEx) and he’s right.
  • Matt shares some tips for using data to support negotiations.
  • Ed writes about the Mystery Mileage Bonus offer for American Airlines Advantage. I love shopping portals, but this one was a little lack luster. Still every little bit of extra miles is appreciated.
  • If you’re a fan of Hennessy Paradis from flying Emirates First Class, I have news for you. Hennessy is releasing a special Singapore 70th Anniversary Hennessy Paradis Imperial bottle. It is a limited release, with only 70 bottles being made available!

Traveling with your significant other, Tool for finding domestic widebodies, Discover Credit Cards, Manufactured Spending

February 12, 2016 By Trevor Leave a Comment

The Weekly News Roundup is a collection of headlines from around the internet that caught the attention of the Tagging Miles team. Content on these blogs do not necessarily reflect the positions of Tagging Miles, and should not be considered endorsements. Have a great story we should read? Contact us now and let us know!

Travel:

  • Scott, over at Travel Codex lost his father a couple of weeks ago. He shares a pretty powerful post about his Father’s passing, and some of the lessons the experience has taught him.
  • Matt, Allison and Dylan did a pretty epic cruise around the southern tip of South America, here’s the first segment, courtesy of the writer in the family..
  • Seth keeps adding more fun tools. This one, a tool to identify where widebodies fly domestically. Why does this matter? Well, most times, it means a more comfortable ride, sometimes even an international configured aircraft with a layflat business class product (that might even be a free complementary upgrade!)
  • The future of First Class, via Airways News. An interesting read, unfortunately, a bit dire for those that enjoy the ultra premium cabin.
  • An interesting review of the Microsoft  Surface 3’s ability to replace your laptop. At home, I use a desktop, but on travel, I’ve moved nearly exclusively to the Microsoft Surface 3, and have been very happy with it.
  • Not that we at Tagging Miles are a Spirit Airlines advocate, especially since The Flight Deal team won’t even feature their fares, but if you must, PF Digest shares a way to change passenger names on your Spirit airlines ticket.
  • A quite entertaining post by Ed, about traveling with your significant other.
  • American Airlines Executive Platinums get a free $25 Uber ride in March, and other details of American’s partnership with Uber.

Miles & Points:

  • Julian, the Devil’s Advocate shares a rather well thought out post responding to the question: “Are the feds trying to shut down manufactured spending?“
  • Doctor of Credit has 14 things you should know about Discover Credit Cards.
  • From Wandering Aramean, it looks like Air New Zealand business class award space may becoming more available.

Reselling:

  • Chasing the Points shares an interesting conundrum that many resellers have probably encountered. Inconsistent shipping due to the utilization of Omnichannel.

TaggingMiles Posts of the Week:

  • Top 7 Super Bowl 50 Commercials
  • Inside the operations of the Trump 757
  • A discounted service option for visa and passport options
  • How to track your inventory when you sell with Amazon
