Quick Roundup of Holiday Shopping Portal Bonuses

November 10, 2015 By Trevor Leave a Comment

My friends, we are entering a wonderful time of year. For those in the Northern Hemisphere, leaves are turning a variety of colors, the weather is becoming a bit brisk, and, most importantly, shopping portals bonuses are becoming more widespread as we approach the holidays!

It goes without saying, that I’m a huge believer in the power of shopping portals, and this year is much like last year in the bonuses.

Upromise

uPromise 10 2015

Upromise is doing their 10% Tuesdays again this year. Its a pretty nice deal, where they have a variety (and often changing) set of stores where they’ll offer 10% off on Tuesday each week until 22 December. Here’s hoping that Staples makes the cut!

American Aadvantage Shopping

AA Holiday 2015 Bonus Portal

Shop between 11/10/15 and 11/26/15 to get the maximum 5,000 AAdvantage miles after $1,200 spend.

United MileagePlus Shopping

UA Holiday 2015 6k Bonus Miles

Note, you need to complete your $1,250 spend by 11/24/2015 for United. Guess they don’t want folks ordering during Thanksgiving Dinner.

Alaska Mileage Plan Shopping

Perhaps the stingiest of the group, Alaska also only gives you until 11/20/15 to get your spending in – so get crackin’!

Delta Sky Miles Shopping

Via Douglas Levin, Delta also has a promotion through 23 November. This one is similar to Alaska, where you get the maximum 1,500 bonus miles after $500 spent.

Southwest Rapid Rewards Shopping (Updated!)

Southwest Rapid Rewards Portal 2015 Bonus

Southwest is offering one of the more beneficial bonuses, up to 5,500 points when you spend $1,500. Oren found this one to be open today, through 26 November.

Wrapping Up

This is the time of year to always look to see how you can double dip normal Shopping Portal benefits with these bonuses to get even more miles (or as in the case of Upromise, get even more cashback!).

A roundup of November Shopping Portal Specials

November 4, 2014 By Trevor 2 Comments

The holidays are always great for shopping portal specials and bonuses. In fact, my wife just spent the past 10 minutes cancelling magazine subscriptions we bought last year that made buying American Advantage miles as comparable to the cost of MSing or slightly below. I don’t see any magazine subscription deals that are particularly awesome right now, but here is a roundup of some of the macro-portal bonuses:

uPromise 10% Tuesdays

uPromise 10% Tuesdays

uPromise’s 10% Tuesdays will continue every Tuesday for the rest of the holiday season. This week includes a list of 66 partners, some nice places to shop but nothing that jumps out for reselling opportunities. 10% cash back isn’t the most awesome of shopping portal specials, but its not bad.

Southwest Rapid Rewards

Southwest Portal Bonus

Offer is valid through 23 November. The terms and conditions specifically exclude Gift Cards. Really, this isn’t the most exciting, except that if you’re stacking this on a temporary bonus on Sears (6x today, 11/4/14) for example, its a nice bonus.

United MileagePlus Shopping

United Unwrap the savings

United Unwrap the savings

This is identified as a “private offer” so I suspect it is targeted, and its not an amazing shopping portal special as it is, but something is always better than nothing. I got 500 miles after $75 spend. Good through 15 November. Gift cards are excluded (as one would expect). There’s also a list of specific store exclusions in the terms.

Lands’ End: Not eligible on purchases made with coupon or discount codes that are not found on this site. Rewards eligible only on orders placed on landsend.com. Not eligible on purchases of gift wrapping. Not eligible on purchases made using Lands’ End gift cards as payment method. ShopYourWay Rewards is not eligible for rewards. Any return, exchange or other adjustment made at a physical store location for an on-line purchase may result in your purchase being deemed ineligible for reward.

WSJwine: Not eligible for shipping in the following states: AL, AK, AR, DE, GA, HI, KS, KY, ME, MD, MS, MT, OK, PA, RI, SD, UT, VT. Void where prohibited by law.

Origins: Not eligible on purchases made with coupon or discount codes that are not found on this site. Not eligible on gift cards, gift certificates or any other similar cash equivalents.

Estee Lauder: Not eligible on purchases made with coupon or discount codes that are not found on this site.  Not eligible on gift cards, gift certificates or any other similar cash equivalents.

La Mer: Not eligible on purchases made with coupon or discount codes that are not found on this site.  Not eligible on gift cards, gift certificates or any other similar cash equivalents.

Good through 21 November, Alaska Mileage Plan has one of the more lucrative options out there. While Sears isn’t 8x today (like it was yesterday), there is still time for it to go back up. BigHabitat and FrequentMiler have more details about how the math can be upwards of 35x. Of course, there are plenty other stores at Alaska’s Mileage Plan mall.
