via Business Traveller, due to an unfortunate fire Rome Airport is cutting back on capacity to 60%. This is the result of a “destructive fire” back in May.
The bright side is that Terminal 3 is primarily reserved for Domestic and Schengen (e.g EU) flights. But the fact remains, if you have the option of traveling via Rome, you would be wiser to choose a different transfer point.
From a personal note, I haven’t been in Rome in a few years, but last I was, I felt like the hotel was rather spread out. Mind you, I flew in and out of–I think–T5.
In reality, this will hurt Alitalia most, which is unfortunate, because I’m sure that they could use all the help they can get.
