Walgreens VGC $1.95 this week

Our NC Walgreens flyer is advertising Vanilla Visa gift cards for $1.95 rather than the usual 3.95.

I don't recall how to liquidate - does anyone remember?

I use money orders from grocery stores, as Vanillas are difficult to impossible to use at Walmart for Bluebird/Serve.

Not sure about whether you can buy with a CC. But as to liquidation, do you have to register these? Can you just liquidate to buy MOs or are there other steps?

I checked the terms on the My Vanilla Prepaid Card card this morning at Walgreens and it said funds were not available without registering. Now there might be a workaround that I'm not aware of but I didn't purchase as I'm not familiar with these cards. Any other experience is appreciated.

I've had one. We used to do load them up with VR. But I can't remember how we drained them.

I unload mine at Family Dollar. Just one per visit. Also, loaded $49.99 at Walmart does work at the kiosk, but that's a real pain!

I thought all "reloadable gift card" were cash only at Walgreens. Are you guys able to buy with a CC? If you can't buy with a CC, then I don't see the point to have conversations about liquidation.
