Suggestions for BDL?

Does anyone have suggestions for something to do during a weekday near BDL? Just booked a mileage run to hit the JetBlue promo and have never been. Going to research now, but some more frequent travelers probably have some good ideas. I have about 5 hrs in between flights and going out on a Wednesday. Would love to Uber out into a town somewhere..

The town (Hartford) is about 20 minutes south. Not sure what I would recommend you do in Hartford, depending what you want to. There is the usual number of museums, both art and science.

Then there is Springfield, MA about 20 minutes north. Pretty cool Basketball Hall of Fame there. Otherwise pretty boring city.

I live in the area, specify what you like to do, or would like to. And I think I can recommend something. (Casinos are probably too far for you, just FYI. )

Thanks for the response! I'm not really sure what's going to be open on a Wednesday at ~10am. I only briefly looked around and searched so far but the museums that came up didn't sound too interesting to me. Which city would be walkable and scenic if any?

May have to post up at a bar in the airport but that would be a last resort. Wouldn't mind being outdoors
