Star Alliance Amex partner for CPH - ORD

I'm looking to take the wife and spawn to London (via VS) over to CPH and then fly direct back to ORD next April. I know that SAS has a direct flight from CPH - ORD that is bookable via United, but I was looking to spend some of my Amex points via a transfer partner. I'm fine with economy.

I know ANA only allows roundtrips. Would it be possible to book a one way SAS flight using Singapore or Air Canada miles without paying exorbitant taxes/fees?

No surcharges on SAS with AC miles. Easily confirmed and searched on the Aeroplan site, and transfers from AMEX are instant.
