Just saw this on several of my AMEX PRG and Plat cards. I've got 8.9K MR points coming in for $400 spend on 3 Plats and 5 PRGs. Not too shabby.

Even if you don't shop at Whole Foods, this is a good deal since it will be triggered by buying Whole Foods gift cards.
And you can choose the amount you want on the gift card.
For instance, you could get $15 worth of groceries and get a $35 gift card.
Then you could go to gift card resellers who would accept 87~88% of the value.
In the end, the most conservative estimate says you spend $50, get back $43($50*0.87-$0.5 for postage) and 1,050 MR points at least.
Sure. It is not a lot of profit. But it certainly is a no-lose deal.

Also worth mentioning that Whole Foods sells beer- and good beer, at that. Took advantage of this on all my cards.

Thanks for this Matt. Unfortunately I didn't get it on my SPG card, but it worked on my PRG. Dboston1 is right about the beer selection. I live in an area where good booze isn't sold at many places, so Whole Foods is the place to stock up (although expensive!). Getting a few miles for buying makes me feel better about paying premium prices.

You can only get the offer on MR cards because the bonus is 1k MR points. So basically, you should look for it on Amex Plat, Amex PRG, Amex Everyday Pref. and Amex Everday. It wouldn't be on anything else.

Edit: There are a couple other MR cards out there (Green for instance), but the moral of the story is that the card has to be a MR earning card in order to get this offer.
