Review: Hyatt Place Downtown Seattle

We spent 2 days/2nights at the Hyatt Place Downtown Seattle. The hotel is clean and in a great location! It is about 3 blocks away from Seattle Center - home of the Chihuly Glass Center and the Space Needle. In fact our room had a view of the Space Needle. The hotel is 2 blocks away from the Hyatt House which is directly across the street from the Seattle Center

There is a Walgreens across the street and it sells a few grocery items including alcohol. There is a Whole Foods store a few blocks away (within walking distance). The hotel has a shuttle that will pick you up from Westlake station, so we took the light rail from SEA-TAC airport to Westlake and just called the hotel to let them know we were ready for pick up.

We had a room designated for the disabled, which was only slightly inconvenient for us since we are two unusually tall people, but the room was clean and spacious and just fine for 2 nights. Breakfast was pretty good with the standard offering of hot and cold kitchen skillet items. There is a computer and printer in a public space right behind the front desk that is available for printing out boarding passes, etc. Very useful!

While in Seattle, we toured the Boeing factory, visited Chateau St. Michelle winery, took a ferry to Bremerton, visited the Chihuly Glass Garden, and toured the Public Market at Pike St. We were only there for 2 days but that was a good a mix of things to see in that time period. We rented a card for 1 day only, I had an Alamo coupon so we rented from the downtown location around 10am and returned it later that night. That turned out to be cheaper than doing Uber to get around to the places far out.
