Retired Aircraft Questions

Just watched this video of a Boeing 767 get retired to the graveyard:

And now I have a few questions

What happens to the last few pilots piloting the aircraft like what Seth saw with the MD11? Do they get retrained to fly other aircraft? http://blog.wandr.me/2014/10/video-klm-md-11-retirement-flight/

In the video, the 767 flew from Sydney to the graveyard - but what about planes that don't have the range from far off lands like a Boeing 737 from BKK to the graveyard? Also with that what about the reverse when an airline takes a new delivery of a shorter range airplane? How do they handle the logistics to it?

Also, there are several aircraft boneyards:

Visited Tuscon last fall and stumbled upon the PIMA Air and Space Museum, and the AFB graveyard right across from it. Made a wicked full day of unexpected touring (2 facilities, bus tour at the AFB). Well worth checking out if you are any kind of a airplane enthusiast. Note that these were mostly military planes, with a few commercials thrown in.

Thanks - I'll keep that in mind.
