First of, Great job to the mods, and the contributors for your write ups, and knowledge shares.
Have been on the forum the last 1 month, and decided today that i need to ask for advice.
Looking at these trips the next year. Sorted by priority. :-
1) Sept/Oct 2016 to New Delhi, India, and China.
2) Most of 2016 Some domestic roundtrips b/w BOS, and ORD
This post is mainly about credit cards to get those points for the 1st, though happy to receive help on the 2nd as well.
1. What route are you looking for? ORD - DEL, then DEL-PEK/PVG, and PVG/PEK-ORD
2. What dates do you want to travel (mention how flexible you are)? Between Sept-end to Oct-end
3. Do you want to fly first, business, or coach? (maybe also "are you willing to fly coach for a positioning flight") Economy.
4. How many passengers? 2 Adults, and an infant (<=1)
5. How many points do you have, in which programs?
AA: 60K (I) ; 10K (SO)
UA: 38K (I)
Lufthansa: 60K (I)
I've 100+ with Carlson, and 60K with Marriott for hotels.
6. What points-earning CCs do you have?
I have 5 CHASE, 2 CITI (AA-personal), and US Club Carlson.
SO has CHASE Sapphire, and Citi AA.
7. Are you willing to sign up for new credit?
Yes.

- We explored option of BA 100K Avios promotion, but it looks like charges above & beyond the use of avios are killing for the above trip($700 for 2 of us!).
- I'm currently exploring the option of Citi Business AA, which has 50K miles promotional on $3K spend/3 months.
- SO is also open to getting a credit card or 2.
- Please note that SO needs an American express CC for some favorable grocery store checkouts, soon.
