If you have 1M AA and 100K UR then AA. And vice versa. Need a bigger picture, need to know your hub - if it only has 1 route on AA then use them for sure. If you have a long term plan for a big trip that these points will be needed for they change value again...
We have 440k AA and 350k UR. I'm at CMH.
Ideally we'd like to save AA for these off-peak trips (there are 4 of us):
1. Europe on December 2015 (80k miles)
2. Central America on March 2016 (60k miles)
3. South America on May 2016 (60k miles)
Also would love to fly my mom on CX F so that's another 135k. So total we need to save 335k.
I'm just worried that AA will pull a fast one and devalues the program without notice.
Also, now that Citi Exec is dead, it will be easier for me to collect URs.
