While I am "branded" to this program, especially at Sofitel, I can't understand why 1) They are so terrible at responding to questions, requests; 2) How it can take over a week for points to post.

We just stayed at the Fairmont San Francisco and they told me 7-10 business days! Our recent Chicago Sofitel stay posted in one or two days. All they have to do is submit it!

My other big gripe is that for "Private Sales" and points bonuses, you have to sign up and book through the website. If you already have a booking, you can't just amend it, but have to cancel and rebook, assuming that you don't have the prepay rate.

Has anyone else had the same experience? I often like to deal direct with the hotels but may have to give up any bonuses. In truth though, I have 7 upcoming stays at various Accor properties and my negotiated or privately offered rates blow away the "Blue Light Specials" that pop up in my email. I guess one can't have it both ways.
