Some of you already know about this trick where you want to book in biz class, but there is no availability. So you book in coach with miles and then call United asking them to waitlist of biz class and have them deduct more miles for biz class. On the day of departure, if you are in luck, you will be bumped to biz class.
This was extensively covered on Dans deals, but there is also a note now that United stopped doing this for a while. I myself tried this 3 times now and each time I was clearly told, 'we don't do that anymore'.
